About
How a cohort starts
In the room, the applicator texts in first. The system never texts a number that has not opted in, either by texting the join code or on the text-message consent page. Live text-message enrollment is not enabled in this demonstration; this page is a walkthrough of the intended path.
In the room
- Start a cohort. Title, county, season, default product. Create a join code.
- Optional roster. Add expected participants by name and field label, with no phone numbers. Those rows sit as Expected.
- Hand out the code. Slide, card, or sign-in sheet. The instructor asks people to text the code from their own phone.
On the phone
- Applicator texts the join code. That inbound message is the consent artifact: timestamped, from the number, in their own act.
- Welcome text. Identity, how often we text, STOP and HELP, then: reply with your name.
- Name, then field. Two short turns. County and product come from the cohort and the plan.
- Enrolled. The roster row matches to the number (or a new row is created). Status is Enrolled, not Invited. A case can be planned when the partner sets product and spray date.
What does not happen
- No partner checkbox that “this person agreed in writing,” then an outbound invite.
- No Invited, awaiting reply status: if nobody texts the code, nothing happens inside the system. The chase stays in the room, with the instructor.
